Harry Selfridge, the man who coined the phrase, "The customer is always right," is again brought to life by actor Jeremy Piven in the second season of this period drama. It is 1914, five years after season one, and Harry's London department store is a great success. His philandering ended, he's determined to win back the trust of his wife, Rose (Frances O'Connor). The start of the Great War provides the catalyst for this season's action. Selfridge's young male staff are all anxious to join up, including George, brother of the charming Agnes (Aisling Loftus), who has returned to manage the store's displays. A sinister addition to the cast is Lord Loxley (Aidan McArdle), the odious husband of Lady Mae (Katherine Kelly). There are many new plotlines involving old and new characters, with a few left hanging for (thankfully) season three. Includes bonus cast interviews. Verdict Every bit as good as (perhaps better than) season one, thanks to the effects of the realities of war on the characters' lives.
